Jordan Pond, Mount Desert Island, Maine

An inadvertent collaboration with my dogs.

I photographed this view of Jordan Pond, in Acadia National Park, with a medium format camera. After I returned home, I packaged up my film to mail to the lab for development. Before I got them in the mail, though, my dogs decided to give the rolls a good chew. Medium format film has no protection around it, unlike 35mm film in its metal canisters, so the damage was substantial.

This frame survived. The effects of the damage are integral to the resulting image, so I’ve included the full context of the film that surrounds the frame itself.
