Lonesome Lake is accessible only by a steep hike in. The trail starts at the Lafayette Place Campground parking lot, and is about 1.4 miles / 2.2 km long, with around 1,250 ft / 380 m of vertical. In the ice season the trail is icy and slippery.

You can continue up the Fishin’ Jimmy trail to Kinsman Pond.
