Halfmile Pond is hike-in only, no road access. It feels very remote and isolated, even though you’re only a few miles from the interstate. It gets many fewer visitors than Smith Pond, with which it shares the initial part of the trail in.

Launch + Parking

Halfmile Pond is easiest to access from the trailhead on Smith Pond Roaddirections just off exit 15 on I-89. The trail in is about 2.5 miles / 3.7 km, with only moderate elevation gain. Parking is limited, with space for about 6 vehicles.
